SKILL ACADEMIES

Skill academies are one hour to one hour 15 minute long sessions that are given for a set period of time, usually 8-10 weeks, during the fall, winter, spring, or summer. They could consist of as many as 10-15 kids in a group which will focus on the basic skills of basketball like shooting, ball handling, passing, and offensive moves. However, we will also incorporate team aspects of the game and learning to play and move with others on the court. They are a great way to gain a better understanding of the basic aspects of the game as well as fine tune your skills and teamwork in a competitive, fun, safe environment.

Pro Skills Basketball

This academy is designed to focus on all aspects of basketball including shooting, passing, ball handling, athletic skills, rebounding, defense, and offensive moves. With each hour long class, we will focus on one specific skill in the hopes that the player can begin to see improvement within the hour, and recognize what he/she needs to improve upon in order to master the skills. It truly is a great way to begin to build a fundamental base for ones game!

This academy will focus on improving the necessary athletic skills that it takes to become a successful athlete. We will work on moving functionally and properly in an athletic sense, using tools such as the speed ladder, tennis balls, hurdles, dynamic movements, and some strength and conditioning drills. This is a great class to learn how to become a more fluid individual with one’s movements! The drills will be geared toward basketball movements, but we will incorporate many different disciplines throughout the hour.

This academy is for 3rd and 4th graders, and it is designed to introduce the basic movements of basketball in an hour long session. We will focus mainly on ball handling, passing, pivoting, layups, and athletic skills. Proper footwork will be stressed with each skill as it lays the ground work to become a successful basketball player. It is a great way to give a young player a good fundamental base!

NOT AVAILABLE AT THIS TIME

This hour-long session is designed for high school players at any level who would like to get in some extra skill work on their Sunday's.  Generally, high school team practices are strictly team and conditioning oriented, and the player's individual skills take a back seat.  This session will be light on the players physically, but we will focus all of our attention on getting shots up, working on some basic moves, and fine tuning ball handling.
